Last Thursday we finished recording our new album. We recorded the drums, bass, guitars and vocals for 12 songs for our new album which will be called “START FROM SCRATCH!”. Honestly we are really happy with the result so far. Now it is up to Nico van Montfort to mix and master it into heaven. While recording we shot some more video footage, enjoy:

A track list will be posted in the near future. There is no release date set for the new album yet. We will upload a song to give you an impression as soon as everything is mastered.

On another note; in April and May we will be touring together with the guys from High Five Drive from Canada. We will hit the UK, France, Belgium and Holland. Check the dates . After that we will travel through a bigger part of Europe at the end of May and June. Again, check the dates at the shows section.

Last week we spent in the studio tracking guitars and vocals. Things actually get in shape pretty nice, if I may say so. Next week we will be finishing some more guitars (rhythm, lead, acoustic), vocals (lead, backing, guest) and do some more additional percussion. You can still check out a little video report we did here. More frequent updates are sent out to “followers“, “fans” and other “BFF’s“.

The new album will feature a song called “Kraken gaat door!” which translates to “Squatting continues!”. This is a song against the to be implemented anti-squatting law in the Netherlands. I know a lot of bands, their audience, artists, students and other people benefit from squatting, so we oppose forbidding it. In case you are a musician (or audience member?) yourself and you want to contribute your voice against this law, please go here and leave your message. We’ve signed it and hopefully you will too! Kraken gaat door!

Those of you who are active on Facebook or Twitter might have noticed already: we have been spending some time in the studio. Last week we started the recordings of our third full length album. We are recording 12 brand new songs with our brother Nico van Montfort, who also recorded Testimony and Pull the Plug. Speaking of which: 2 of the songs we are recording were also on that EP, but we are using proper amps now.

So last week we managed to record all the drum and bass tracks in just over 4 days. We will be returning to the Erock studio to work on guitar and vocals next week and the week after that. We have not planned a release date yet, as we are still figuring out details on who will release it. Recordings should be done by the end of March, hopefully it will not be too long before you can get your hands on this album.

To put it mildly, we are absolutely stoked to finally get these songs recorded. If you want to keep up with what we are doing in the studio, consider ‘fanning’ us on Facebook or following us on Twitter. We will be sending out updates regularly.

Below is a little video that summarizes the first 4 days (including English subtitles). Hope you like what you hear.

Read the Dutch version and the English version.

Isn’t it a jolly good time? Our tiny country is covered under a layer of snow, resulting in a total meltdown of all activities. The climate summit in Copenhagen last week seems to have become a meltdown of equal scale: all initiatives to save our civilization have been meticulously snowed under by lobbies to preserve our right to welfare. In Greece (no snow there) people have been “celebrating” the 1-year anniversary of the popular outrage and riots of last year. After those events things only got worse, even EU “help” didn’t help. And our good friend Silvio Berlusconi is gaining popularity despite the fact that he has to face both court and church (quite literally, speaking of Smash the Statues).
Ah well, Merry Christmas everybody!

But to all this, there is an antithesis: stuff that is valuable and maybe fun. For us; we are practicing our asses off, writing new songs as if they are climate agreements and practicing like the sustainability of the world as we know it is depending on it. We are scheduling more and more shows to kick the songs into shape live. And, we’ve set ourselves the toughest deadline there is: recording dates are planned! At the end of February we will be entering the studio with our friend Nico van Montfort of XPZ sound. We plan to record 12 or 13 songs for a new full length. More about that later.

In case both Sinterklaas and Santa forgot about you, and you want to treat yourself before the end of the year: check out our new merch. Pre-orders have been sent, regular orders are up now. Check the picture below, we are extremely happy with the new stuff. The design is actually red and silver (does it get any more Christmassy?) and we have t-shirts, girlie shirt, zippers and girlie zippers in several colors and sizes. On top of that we also have new patches, including one with Noam fucking Chomsky! Check our merch store for orders.
Have some fun during the holidays!

While we are constantly focusing on new tours and a new release, it's sometimes fun to take a look into the past, in what I like to call our 'shoebox': a huge archive of tour videos, some of which end up being edited into reports . Browsing through the shoebox, I found this little video of our show at Fest 7 , on our last USA tour. Hope you enjoy the video as much as I did.

In other news: due to all kinds of activities (writing songs, touring, fixing our beloved van etc..), we haven't really been able to slap together tour videos lately. We are currently looking into ways to work together with people who enjoy doing this. More about that later.

So we're back from one tour, and have announced the next one as well. A lot is happening over here. And to keep you up to date as much as possible we'll try to update this site a little more often. Feel free to comment on stuff we're posting. "Communication is what it's all about" sing two major bands, so let's do it.

First of all, if you happen to have/find reviews, pictures, videos, whatever from our USA tour, please send them or a link to us. We like to keep track and collect a lot of souvenirs this way. A written tour report and the last episode of the tour video report are to come.

For the Americans that are looking for ways to order our merch cheaper than from us (shipping costs and stuff) check out Jump Start Records for the Testimony LP. For the CD/LP of Silencing Civilization and the Testimony CD get in touch with Square of Opposition Records. He is more up to date with his email than with his website. Don't you worry. Square of Opposition also has some left over T-shirts from our USA tour up for sale. Soon they will be for sale through this website too. About that; we sold out some old shirt designs and updated this on the merch section. The remastered Silencing Civilization CDs and LPs are available for ordering.

We also found some new reviews of Testimony in German at Waste of Mind fanzine and Blueprint Fanzine, in English in Can You See the Sunset, Punktastic. On top of that the German zine Ox did an interview with us. You can find the online version here. Soon there will be an interview on ipunk.cz and Last Hours. As if we wouldn't let you know.

Phil from Black Numbers Records (Static Radio, Purpose, Rock, star) asked us if we would like to participate in a Kid Dynamite tribute "Carry the torch" they are releasing together with Copper Lung Records and Get Outta Town Records. And of course, we're honoured. There's a list of already confirmed other bands which is quite exciting. So next weekend we'll be recording Kid Dynamite's "Wrist rocket" and perhaps some demos for our own new songs. If there's enough time though.

For now we hope to see you at the Speak Out Fest which can't go wrong with a line up like this: Smoke or Fire, Fake Problems, Tenement Kids, Brat Pack, Rush 'n Attack, Omission, Brito.

dear all, this week we got back from our longest, best, warmest, hardest and most american euro tour we did so far. we've had great times together with the static radio boys in all the beautiful countries and cities we went to. on the other hand we suffered the worst experience a touring band can experience: a van breaking down. between toulouse and montpellier the van decided not to shift gears anymore. well, stuck in third gear you won't get far, but just like your mom managed to arrange replacement transportation. if it wasn't for mom we'd have to cancel the rest of the tour. with the new transportation (two vehicles actually, a car and a minivan) we could finish the rest of the tour. even though we have to offer our most sincere apologies to the people in montpellier who came to the show and for who we came in too late (we only had a 6 hour delay because of the van breaking down). hopefully we'll be back in montpellier soon to make this up! but for the rest this tour was better than any other tour we ever did. never before did so many people come to the shows, did we sell so much merch and were people singing along in tune this much. thank you to all contributing to this, both people organizing and showing up. if you want to read in detail how everything went, read on at our 3voor12 diary (all in dutch unfortunately, an english version will be posted on our site soon!). if you want to watch some pictures we and static radio took, please go here. a video report will be posted later.

other news: we have some more shows in our own country to announce, and since the show in nijmegen was such a succes even though some people couldn't make it, we'll be playing again in nijmegen december 20, at de onderbroek. also we'll be playing in one of our other hometowns, leeuwarden. check the shows for more dates.

on the tour we brought some new merchandise, new zippers, hoodies, t-shirts, girlies, stickers, 7"es. and there are some leftovers we brought back home. please check the merchandise section if you're looking for a 7" or a new sweater to confront the cold winter. one zipped hoody design is not online yet, next time it will be. we also have new sampler offers. just to let you know.

and, since we just got back from tour, we're working hard on our next tour. this time we'll be hitting the u.k. and germany again. if you can and want to help us out, you're more than welcome. please check the shows section for available dates.

last but not least, next week the final master of the new album, testimony, will be back from the studio. we're still talking to several labels about the release. as soon as any confirmations are in you will read it here. as for now, it looks the record won't be out before the new year though.

and again, it's been a while, but only because all of us have been so damn busy! mainly we've spent 10 days and nights in the studio to record the most important parts for our new full length album. but we still have to record some piano parts, mix everything and send it to the mastering studio. and then we'll have to see for a way to release this thing. we're talking with several labels about the release, but no decision has been made so far. hopefully it will be out before the end of this year, it should be possible if things get along. in the studio we also shot some video, so you might expect a small video report sooner or later.

other report-talk: the tour report from our u.s.a. tour is now also up on our site in english, please check it out here, you can also find links to the pictures we took on that tour and the videos and diaries we made. have fun! we're also busy preparing our longest euro tour to date, 16 dates together with our friends from static radio. we'll be crossing holland, france, italy, austria and germany. all but one shows are confirmed and looking good, so if you have the chance, drop by and say hello.

we'll also bring a complete new line of merchandise including, shirts, girlies, (zipped) hoodies, stickers and 7"es. and we might play some of the new recorded songs live. no, we will. if you want to check out the tour poster (and spread it?), you're welcome: click here for a big version and a huge version. we don't do small no more. a lot of thank you's to all the "partners" helping us out ons this tour, mentioned on the bottom of the poster. the poster is designed by gemma, check her other amazing stuff!

if you want to order the 7" that was released for the u.s.a. tour you can go to the no idea records site and order it through their distro. for this upcoming tour there will be a tour diary on 3voor12, holland's biggest online music magazine. i'm afraid it will be in dutch, we will see what we can do about that. we hope to update it as much as possible. more than we update this site, we hope.

speaking of which, the new website seems to have some delay, unfortunately. all our time and attention is going to the new record and the upcoming tour. i guess that's it for now, we hope to see you out on tour!
